Imagine we achieve the future we’re dreaming of: all farmers are actively building soil health; our climate has stabilized; all our water is safe for drinking; people have the healthcare they need; beginning farmers are empowered to launch successful businesses; food is distributed to communities in ways that are healthy and fair for the farmers, the eaters, and the land; we live in a democracy that is responsive to all people, no matter their geography, race, gender, or birthplace; and corporate power has been dismantled. Right now, this seems like an impossible dream because of what the dominant narrative tells us. But in our imagined future, this is reality. Land Stewardship Project
THE GREEN NEW DEAL (the proposed 10 year mobilization plan)
“Working collaboratively with farmers and ranchers in the United States to remove pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector – including (i) by supporting family farming; (ii) by investing in sustainable farming and land use practices that increase soil health; and (iii) by building a more sustainable food system that ensures universal access to healthy food.”
